Understanding Support at Home

Support at Home is the Australian Government's program for funded in-home aged care. If the name has left you uncertain, here is the plain version.

What is Support at Home?

It is the government program that funds support to help older Australians live at home. It is replacing the former Home Care Package system and bringing in-home support under one structure.

Who is it for?

Older people who need some help to keep living safely and comfortably at home, from light household help through to nursing and more complex care.

How do I access it?

It begins with an assessment through My Aged Care. We can help you understand the process, prepare for the assessment and make sense of what you are offered.

What if the detail feels overwhelming?

That is entirely normal. The rules shift and the language is heavy. Get in touch and we will explain how it applies to your family, clearly and without pressure.
